Research

PhD position in the binational DACH-DFG project entitled “Success, limits and failure of subsistence strategies in eastern Central Europe during the early Gravettian and the Last Glacial Maximum”.

The aim of the project is to reconstruct the environmental and climate conditions during the Last Glacial Maximum (LGM) and the Early Gravettian, a period of cultural prosperity and comparatively favorable climatic conditions. We compare the environmental conditions and archaeological evidence of the LGM with those of the Early Gravettian and combine archaeological analyses, osteoarchaeological information, sedimentology and palaeoenvironmental data.
